For a number of years, there has been no Clinical Supervision offered in the Hampton Roads area. I have personally come across hundreds of people in the field of mental health who were experiencing difficulty in becoming certified in substance abuse. Well, the wait is now over!! Omni Clinical Supervision, LLC, a subsidiary of A. Richards Counseling, LLC. is now here to provide this service, at an affordable cost.

Unfortunately, the field of substance abuse is one of the fastest-growing fields in the workforce. The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) reports, that there is a “definite connection between mental illness and the use of addictive substances” and that mental health disorder patients are responsible for the consumption of:

38 percent of alcohol

44 percent of cocaine

40 percent of cigarettes

NBER also reports that people who have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder at some point in their lives are responsible for the consumption of:

69 percent of alcohol

84 percent of cocaine

68 percent of cigarettes

With statistics like these, it is clear to see the need for quality training. Omni Clinical Supervision (OCS) was created to fulfill that need. In as few as 30 sessions, you can become eligible to take the certification exam of your choice. Our courses are taught by highly trained subject matter experts who specialize in substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. The trainers at Omni Clinical Supervision range from Licensed Clinical Social Workers to retired and active duty military-trained counselors.

It is one thing to pass a written exam to become a certified counselor, but are you prepared for a difficult and resistant client? Our training is not to pass an exam. We provide training for you to become a Substance Abuse Counselor. The knowledge and skills gained through from our services will in turn enable you to pass the certification exam. The trainers at Omni will facilitate case presentations which will help the prospective substance abuse counselor to think like a substance abuse counselor. So if you’re interested in becoming a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in Virginia, or an internationally trained certified counselor with the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC), call or send a message.
